COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND OUTREACH PROJECTS (CDOP) IS AN AWARD WINNING ORGANIZATION WHICH OFFERS PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES, COMMUNITIES EMPOWERMENT,  AND THE PROVISION OF PROJECTS  MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS..

CDOP is professional organization formerly known as the Pietermaritzburg AIDS Action Group (PAAG), which, in 1989, arose out of a need for networking and coordination amongst various organizations dealing with the health related problems, a need which had not been addressed in any way previously. The PAAG was a voluntary, independent, non-aligned organization comprising individual members and those representing dome governmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

CDOP is based in SOUTH AFRICA and serves the greater KWAZULU NATAL PROVINCE and beyond. In 2003, it changed its name to “PMB – The Community Development and Outreach Projects – CDOP” to include grass-root groups where the AIDS epidemic was growing rapidly and also to incorporate the aspect of community empowerment and upliftment. Presently, CDOP has grown into a powerful, non-governmental organization that successfully meets its set-out objectives effectively as revealed in the evaluation process.

The principal aim of  CDOP, as stated in its Constitution, shall be to empower the population for the development and to ensure wellness while eradicating Social ills and to take all such action as may be necessary:

• to facilitate among individuals and organizations which have an interest in community development work;
• to promote and facilitate the efficient and effective use of resources;
• to motivate and encourage individuals and organizations to act in Education, Wellness management, Counselling, Medical, Food security, Nutrition, HIV & AIDS, Humanitarian relief, Livelihood development, Poverty alleviation, Women & Gender, Youth empowerment, Employee wellness, Crime & violence, Children & Mortality and Community health care;
• to creatively and proactively empower communities & organizations to deal with the various social ills and related issues;
